Marion Design Co. is seeking an organized, proactive, and compassionate Administrative Assistant to join our creative and community-minded team. This role is ideal for someone who brings strong communication skills, resourceful problem-solving, and meticulous attention to detail—with an interest in the power of design to build local success and community well-being.

As an Administrative Assistant, you'll serve as the operational heartbeat of the studio—keeping schedules aligned, systems running smoothly, and our team supported. This role is foundational to how we function and grow, and you’ll play a key part in helping us live out our mission every day.

Core Responsibilities

  • Office Support & Coordination

    • Manage scheduling for team meetings, events, and community collaborations

    • Monitor and respond to studio emails and phone communications with professionalism and care

    • Assist with organizing studio documentation, files, and contact records

  • Communication & Client Care

    • Be a welcoming first point of contact for clients, guests, and partners

    • Support client communication and scheduling needs

    • Maintain a gracious and professional tone in all written and verbal communication

  • Studio Operations & Problem Solving

    • Troubleshoot administrative issues with a resourceful, can-do attitude

    • Maintain supply inventories and track orders as needed

    • Assist with keeping the studio space tidy and hospitable.

  • Support to Leadership & Team

    • Anticipate team needs and offer logistical support for design and community projects

    • Collaborate on event planning, internal systems, and special initiatives

    • Assist with data entry as requested

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in an administrative or office coordinator role

  • Comfort with digital tools (Google Workspace, spreadsheets, simple databases, etc.)

  • A background or interest in design, arts, nonprofit, or small business environments

Bonus Qualities (Not Required, But Lovely to Have)

  • Familiarity with project management tools (like Monday and Slack)

  • Copy editing experience

Compensation: Based on experience
Schedule: Preferably Tuesday - Friday 10:00 - 2:00 hours or comparable (approx. 20 hours/week), with the possibility of growth.
Reports to: Studio Leadership
