Clouds define the distance.

Have you ever had to define the distance of a pure blue sky? Unless you’re an astronomer, you really have no frame of reference to describe the measurement of the space above you. We can utilize artistic words such as blue (color hue) and vast (volume), but our frame of reference requires another visible component. Nodes that interrupt infinity…clouds. With these visible, white blankets of atmosphere, we’re now able to use words and phrases to describe distance. “Those clouds are so close!”

In the same manner, if our path toward solving a problem is blue skies all the way, we have to wonder if it was a problem in the first place. We need the nodes of spontaneous client requests, unexpected research discoveries, or deadline delays to generate an urgency that pushes our creativity beyond blue skies. Embrace the clouds. They mark pivots of unplanned innovation that lead us toward blue skies!
